Under the supervision of Christian Robert, Associate and Head of Workshop, the senior Architecture Technician develops and designs technical documents such as plans, specifications, cost estimates and working drawings. This person will also assume a leadership role with junior staff: reviewing shop drawings, identifying issues from a construction perspective, and mentoring as needed. He or she will be involved in the entire project from the conceptual stage to site assistance. Key skills of the role are listening, analyzing, validating, teamwork, problem solving and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Your main responsibilities

  • Mentor colleagues with less experience and be the conduit between seniors and juniors;
  • Have an eye for detail and proactive listening skills to be able to understand, creatively solve and accurately respond to all stakeholder needs;
  • Be a reliable and flexible team player who works well under pressure and can achieve goals in a dynamic environment;
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams (engineering, clients, specialists, etc.).
  • The person we are looking for

  • DEC in architectural technology or equivalent;
  • About 10+ years of experience;
  • Proven achievements in coaching/mentoring;
  • Experience in team management (2 to 3 people);
  • Proven achievements on several diversified projects in all phases;
  • Good technical knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit;
  • Good knowledge of the Quebec construction code;
  • Mastery of building envelope concepts in North America (northern climate).
  • Job description

  • Participate in the realization of the projects on all the technical phases until the supervision (plan/drawing, specification, estimates,) and design them;
  • Participate in the preparation of construction and development cost estimates;
  • Identify and solve problems related to the construction code;
  • Calculate surface areas and perform quantity surveys;
  • Participate in the development of construction details;
  • Prepare working drawings (preliminary and final phase);
  • Participate in multidisciplinary coordination meetings (external stakeholders);
  • Coordinate the production of plans, specifications and construction details;
  • Assist in site supervision and review shop drawings;
  • Develop and maintain a relationship of trust with your team and sometimes clients.
